Senior Employment Lawyer (NV2 clearance required)Allygroup is seeking an experienced Employment and Work, Health and Safety (WHS) lawyer for an initial 12-month secondment opportunity within a high-profile federal government agency.This opportunity is ideal for a senior practitioner who enjoys complex advisory work, fast-paced environments, and making a meaningful contribution to public sector outcomes.The opportunityYou will join a specialist in-house legal team providing strategic advice across employment, WHS and integrity matters.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, this role offers exposure to complex and sensitive issues within a large and diverse organisation.The engagement is available on a full-time or part-time basis (minimum of three days per week).
Applicants must be Australian citizens, Canberra-based, and possess a valid NV2 security clearance or higher to be considered.In this role, you will:Provide strategic and practical advice on WHS matters, including engagement with regulators and responses to inspections and inquiriesDeliver high-quality advice across a broad range of employment law matters, including overseeing and managing contentious issues and litigationAct as a trusted adviser in responding to claims, complaints and external review processes involving oversight and integrity bodiesSupport complex operational and integrity matters, including conflicts of interest, public interest disclosures and referrals to external integrity agenciesReview and second-counsel advice prepared by junior lawyers to ensure accuracy, consistency and best practicePlay a key role in mentoring and developing junior lawyers, contributing to capability uplift across the legal functionTo be successful in this role,
