We are working with a well-established national property services business that provides maintenance solutions to commercial and government clients across Australia.
With a diverse portfolio spanning corporate offices, education, airports, government and other specialised environments, they are looking for a Safety Advisor to take ownership of their WHS function across the business.
This is a excellent opportunity for an experienced Safety Advisor looking to take the next step, or a senior safety professional who wants the autonomy and influence that comes with being the key safety specialist within an organisation.About the RoleReporting to the Head of People & Safety, you will take accountability for health and safety across the business, working closely with Operations, HR & People, Finance and Business Development.
You will play a key role in driving a proactive safety culture, improving systems and processes, and ensuring employees and contractors are supported to work safely.Your responsibilities will include:Maintaining and continuously improving the WHS Management System in line with ISO ***** standardsProviding practical WHS advice and guidance to managers, employees and contractorsConducting regular site inspections, risk assessments and safety reviews across MelbourneReviewing and maintaining SWMS, SOPs, chemical registers and site safety documentationSupporting injury management and return-to-work processesDeveloping and delivering toolbox talks, training and safety initiativesMonitoring safety performance, reporting on trends and identifying opportunities for improvementSupporting audits, compliance activities and competency assuranceDeveloping safety campaigns and initiatives that positively influence safety cultureYou can expect to spend around 1-2 days per week visiting sites across Melbourne, with the majority of sites located within approximately 20 minutes of the Camberwell office.
There are also approximately 3-4 interstate trips per year to support national sites.About YouWe are looking for someone who is confident operating autonomously and can build strong relationships across all levels of a business.
You will ideally have:A tertiary qualification in WHS, with Certificate IV in WHS as a minimumStrong experience in a comparable Safety Advisor roleExperience within property services, facilities, cleaning, construction or another field-based environment will be highly regardedStrong knowledge of WHS legislation, systems and processesExperience with incident investigations, risk assessments and safety inspectionsStrong reporting, KPI monitoring and continuous improvement capabilityICAM or similar investigation training is highly desirableReturn to Work Coordinator training is highly desirableA current driver's licenceMost importantly, you will be someone who is proactive, practical and comfortable taking initiative.
