Senior / Experienced Geotechnical EngineerGeotechnique Pty Ltd is a Sydney-based geotechnical engineering consultancy providing practical, high-quality geotechnical advice across residential, commercial and infrastructure projects throughout Greater Sydney and NSW.Due to continued growth, we're seeking an Experienced to Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team.
This role suits an engineer with strong technical judgement and solid Sydney experience who is ready to take ownership of projects, manage clients directly, and provide practical advice, while working closely with our Principal Engineers and the General Manager on the delivery and growth of the broader geotechnical team.The RoleYou'll manage a portfolio of geotechnical projects with a good degree of independence, from scoping and investigation through to reporting, design and construction support.
You'll be a key technical point of contact for clients and contractors, and a trusted second set of eyes for our Principal Engineers and General Manager across project delivery, client relationships and day-to-day team operations.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and oversee geotechnical investigations, including fieldwork scope, supervision and interpretation of subsurface conditionsPrepare geotechnical factual, interpretative and design reports to a high professional standard, with minimal oversightUndertake geotechnical analysis and design across foundations, earthworks, excavations, retaining structures and pavementsProvide geotechnical support during construction, including site inspections, verification of ground conditions, and practical advice to contractors and clientsManage project programme, budget and scope,



and act as the primary client contact for your projectsSupport the Principal Engineers and General Manager with project delivery oversight and client management across the wider teamContribute to the mentoring and technical development of junior engineersAbout YouMinimum five years' geotechnical engineering experience, including at least three years in geotechnical consulting in SydneyStrong working knowledge of Sydney geology and ground conditions, and their practical implications for design and constructionDemonstrated ability to independently prepare geotechnical reports and provide sound technical advice to clientsPractical experience providing geotechnical advice and support during constructionBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (essential); postgraduate qualification in Geotechnical Engineering highly regardedSound understanding of relevant Australian Standards and local authority requirementsProficiency with geotechnical analysis and design software (e.g. PLAXIS, Slide, Geostudio) and pavement design experience is an advantageChartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status, or working towards is highly regardedStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients and contractorsComfortable managing multiple projects concurrently and working to time and budget constraintsCurrent driver's licence and willingness to undertake fieldwork and site visitsFull Australian working rightsWhat We OfferExposure to a diverse range of projects across Greater Sydney and NSWGenuine opportunity to take ownership of projects and grow into a senior leadership role within the teamSupport for career development, mentoring and career progressionCollaborative, technically strong team environmentCompetitive salary package commensurate with experience
