This is an opportunity for a 3+ PQE Commercial Lawyer who wants to do more than contribute to a practice.
We're looking for someone who wants to help build it, develop a team and grow into a leadership position.
The Role
You'll join our Commercial Law practice as a senior member of the team and work closely with the Managing Partner across a broad portfolio of transactional and advisory commercial matters.
As the practice continues to grow, you'll have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility for clients, workflow and junior team members, with a genuine pathway towards Senior Associate, Special Counsel and ultimately leading a team or division.
This isn't a stepping stone.

What You'll Do
Advise businesses on structures, governance, contracts and general commercial mattersAct as a trusted adviser to retainer clients and manage their day-to-day legal needsTranslate complex legal issues into clear, practical and commercially focused adviceDevelop long-term relationships with clients across a range of industries
Drafting & Negotiation
Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreementsWork across shareholder agreements, company constitutions, employment and contractor agreements, terms and conditions,



confidentiality deeds and other commercial contractsReview incoming contracts and advise on commercial and legal risksTailor agreements to meet client-specific needs and risk profiles
Transactional
Act for vendors and purchasers on mergers and acquisitionsDraft and review commercial and retail leasesAdvise clients across a range of commercial transactionsSupport businesses as they grow, restructure and evolveHelp lead, supervise and mentor junior lawyers and paralegalsAllocate and oversee workflow as the team growsSupport the development of junior team membersHelp build a cooperative, high-performing team cultureDevelop your own leadership and people-management skills
Client & Practice Development
Manage a portfolio of clients independentlyBecome a trusted first point of contact for key clientsBuild deep, long-term client relationshipsDevelop your business development and networking skillsLearn how to identify, attract and win new workContribute to the growth and direction of the Commercial Law practice
What We're Looking For
3+ years PQE in Commercial LawStrong experience across corporate/commercial advisory and contract workStrong drafting, negotiation and analytical skillsCommercial acumen and a pragmatic,



solutions-focused approachConfidence managing client relationships independentlyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively while taking ownership of your mattersInterest in leading, managing and developing a teamExperience supervising junior lawyers or paralegals is highly regardedNSW admission with a current practising certificate
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who wants to build something.
You may already have leadership experience, or you may be ready for your first genuine opportunity to step into it.
