St Vincent's Health Australia is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer / Systems Engineer to join our Infrastructure Operations team, supporting the stability, security, and performance of enterprise infrastructure across clinical, corporate, and research environments.This is a hands‐on technical role suited to experienced engineers who thrive in complex environments and are passionate about automation, cyber resilience, and high‐availability systems.About the roleYou will play a key role in maintaining and evolving SVHA's core infrastructure platforms across Windows, Linux, virtualisation, storage, and hybrid cloud environments.In this role you will:Lead or contribute to system design, implementation, and optimisationProvide advanced operational support and incident resolutionTake ownership of infrastructure platforms across the full lifecycle (design, operate, optimise, retire)The role also contributes to enterprise projects and works closely with cybersecurity, networking, and application teams to deliver integrated, resilient solutions.Key responsibilitiesMaintain and optimise Windows, Linux, VMware, and hybrid cloud, plus core services (Active Directory, Exchange, DNS, DHCP, file, certificates)Run patching, vulnerability remediation, and audit readiness with the Cybersecurity teamContribute to disaster recovery and business continuity strategy and testingUse automation and scripting to reduce manual effort and repetitive workMaintain monitoring and alerting to keep systems healthy and availableOperate within ITIL-aligned incident, change, and problem management,
