In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the financial integrity of our organisation by managing day-to-day bookkeeping operations and providing essential financial support to our valued clients.
This position offers the flexibility of part-time or casual work whilst contributing significantly to the accuracy and efficiency of our financial records and reporting processes.What you'll be doingRecording and reconciling financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivableManaging bank reconciliations and ensuring all transactions are accurately posted to the general ledgerPreparing monthly financial statements and balance sheets for review by managementProcessing invoices,
receipts and payments in a timely and accurate mannerMaintaining and updating the chart of accounts and financial recordsAssisting with the preparation of financial documentation for audits and tax complianceIdentifying and resolving discrepancies in financial records and recommending process improvementsEnsuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal financial proceduresWhat we're looking forA minimum of 5 years' experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role, with demonstrated expertise in managing full bookkeeping functionsProficiency with accounting software systems, including experience with cloud-based platforms such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks or similarStrong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and GST compliance requirementsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial management toolsExcellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy when processing high volumes of transactionsStrong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a part-time capacityDemonstrated ability to communicate financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholdersProfessional certification such as a Diploma of Accounting or a Certificate in Bookkeeping would be highly advantageousExperience in a not-for-profit or community services workplace is preferred but not essentialWe encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds and are committed to creating an inclusive recruitment process.
