Your current company A well-established organisation operating across multiple Australian states is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join its collaborative payroll team.
Working within a fast-paced environment, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate payroll services to a large and diverse workforce while contributing to ongoing payroll operations and process improvements.Your new role Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will join a team of four payroll professionals and take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing across a complex workforce.
This position offers an immediate start, initially on a temporary basis, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.Key responsibilitiesProcessing weekly and fortnightly payrolls for approximately 800 employeesManaging payroll across multiple Australian statesInterpreting and applying multiple Enterprise Agreements and AwardsProcessing payroll for both blue-collar and white-collar workforcesManaging payroll queries and resolving discrepancies in a timely mannerEnsuring compliance with payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation and award requirementsAssisting with payroll reporting,
reconciliations and end-of-period activitiesSupporting continuous improvement initiatives within payroll processesWhat you'll need to succeedTo be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:Previous experience as a Senior Payroll Officer or highly experienced Payroll OfficerProven experience managing complex, high-volume payrollsStrong understanding of Awards, Enterprise Agreements and payroll legislationExperience processing payrolls across multiple statesAbility to work accurately in a fast-paced environment with competing prioritiesExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsStrong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilitiesWhat you'll get in returnImmediate start opportunityAdelaide CBD locationTemporary assignment with genuine potential for permanent employmentFlexible working hoursSupportive and collaborative payroll team environmentHourly rate between $45-$55 per hour plus super, dependent on experienceOpportunity to work within a large, complex and growing organisation
