As the State's central financing authority, we help Queensland Government agencies, local governments and other public sector entities achieve sustainable financial outcomes that benefit Queenslanders.We're seeking a motivated and commercially minded Senior Associate to join our Local Government, Education and Governance team on a 12-month maximum term contract.
This is an opportunity to contribute to projects that influence the long‐term financial sustainability, governance and operational performance of public sector organisations across Queensland.The opportunityYou will work with a diverse range of clients including local governments, education institutions and state government agencies, supporting projects that address real-world challenges and improve the social and economic wellbeing of Queensland communities.Working closely with Directors and senior stakeholders, you will contribute to engagements across areas such as:Financial sustainability and performance improvementInfrastructure and asset managementStrategic governance and decision‐makingBusiness cases and feasibility assessmentsRisk management and organisational improvementData analysis, modelling and evidence-based insightsCapability uplift and change initiativesNo two projects are the same.
You'll have the opportunity to work across multiple sectors while developing your advisory, analytical and stakeholder engagement skills.What you'll bringWe are looking for someone who combines robust analytical capability with a genuine interest in helping clients solve complex problems.You will likely have:At least five years' professional experience in consulting, local government, finance, infrastructure, governance, economics,



public sector advisory or a related fieldExperience working within or alongside local government, particularly in financial management, risk management, asset management or governanceStrong financial modelling, data analysis and problem‐solving skillsExperience preparing business cases, feasibility studies or strategic recommendationsExceptional written communication and report‐writing skillsConfidence facilitating discussions and building trusted stakeholder relationshipsA collaborative and curious mindset, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvementRelevant tertiary qualifications in finance, economics, business, accounting, law, engineering, mathematics or a related disciplineBuild the future with QTC:QTC is the central financing authority for the Queensland Government and provides financial resources and services for the State.
