The Senior Clinician Occupational Therapist (Hand Therapist) delivers high-quality clinical services to clients via a person-centred approach to the management of hand trauma, acute hand injury and degenerative hand conditions.
The candidate must demonstrate excellent skills in the assessment of hand conditions including an understanding of the biomechanics and anatomy of the upper limb.
The role requires effective communication with multidisciplinary colleagues whilst working in a busy clinic and outpatient setting.The role is primarily based at our Wonthaggi Hospital campus but may be required to work in the community health and rehabilitation centres located across the Bayside Health Regional Care Group.Additional hours (up to 1.0EFT) may be available depending on candidate experience/ interest in other areas of Community-based Occupational Therapy including Home Modifications and Assistive TechnologyQualifications and Experience RequiredBachelor of Occupational Therapy or Master of Occupational Therapy Practice (or recognised equivalent)Registration with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency (AHPRA)Member of OT Australia or eligible for practicing membershipA Police Check that is current and within 12 months of the date of issueCurrent Working with Children's checkCurrent or proof of application of the NDIS Worker Screening CheckSpecialist postgraduate training and/or experience in Plastics/Hand Therapy Post graduate qualification in relevant areas of practice or working towards same.Eligible for membership of Australian Hand Therapy Association.Well informed of current developments in musculoskeletal rehabilitation and Hand Therapy.Evidence of developing/developed skills and experience in leadership in a team environmentDemonstrated ability to provide expert, authoritative judgement and advice on clinical, practice and workforce issues as requiredDemonstrated ability to monitor and report on clinical work practices and outcomesDemonstrated commitment to and experience and training in improving knowledge and practice through targeted professional development and clinical supervisionDemonstrated experience with data management, statistical reporting and business proposals, completed to a high standard within set timeframesDemonstrated ability to cultivate innovation, be action oriented and drive results to meet expectations of clients and stakeholdersMinimum seven years' experienceDemonstrated change management experience with high level communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution and negotiationEvidence of comprehensive knowledge of funding streams and key performance indicators, and strategies for achieving these, relevant to Hand Therapy.Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively, contribute to developing others and value differences.
