About the role
As the first point of contact for families, you will play an important role in the smooth running of our developmental paediatric clinic.
The clinic provides assessment, diagnosis and ongoing support to children and families, and we are looking for someone who understands the importance of creating a welcoming, calm and supportive experience from the moment families walk through our doors.
Key responsibilities
Welcoming children, parents and carers to the clinic
Answering phone calls and responding to enquiries
Managing appointments, cancellations and rescheduling
Processing payments and private health fund claims
Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation
Liaising with families, paediatricians and other health professionals
Managing emails and general administrative tasks
Supporting the clinicians and broader team with day-to-day administrative duties
Maintaining a professional, friendly and welcoming reception environment
About you
Warm, compassionate and genuinely enjoys working with children and families
Highly organised and able to manage competing priorities
Professional, reliable and well presented
Confident communicating with people from a range of backgrounds
Comfortable handling sensitive and confidential information
Computer literate and quick to learn new systems
Able to work independently while also being a supportive team member
Calm and empathetic when assisting families who may be navigating complex developmental or behavioural concerns
Previous experience in medical, allied health or paediatric reception is highly regarded, although we are also interested in candidates with solid administration and customer-service experience
