Multiclass - Casual / Short Term Contract up to 12 Months
Salary: $107,487 to $114,917 (Pro-Rata) – RN2
Salary: $94,769 to $109,787 (Pro-Rata) – PO2
Overview:
The Public Health Officer/Nurse contributes to the achievement of organisational objectives and outcomes designed to control the occurrence of communicable disease in South Australia.
The Public Health Officer/Nurse is responsible for the collection, analysis, interpretation and reporting of communicable disease surveillance data.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Public Health Officer/Nurse is required to participate in investigations of communicable disease outbreaks and subsequent control activities.
The Public Health Officer/Nurse will be required to provide health information and advice to members of the public, health professionals, government agencies and special interest groups on communicable diseases, immunisation, and the principles of food hygiene and infection control.

Criminal History Screening Requirement
A 'National Police Certificate' NPC (also known as a 'Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check' NCCHC) for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position (general employment)
Immunisation Risk for this position is Category B (indirect contact with blood or body substances)
SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
Special Conditions
Required for RN2
Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practising certificate with at least 3 years post registration experience.
Required for PO2
Appropriate Degree in Science
