From delivering safe, high-quality meals to developing innovative menus and supporting catering teams across multiple sites, our catering operations play an important role in the daily experience of every resident on site.
This Position is FIFO ex Perth / 8 days on 6 days off
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Catering Manager to join the Assetlink Village Services team and provide operational leadership, technical expertise and strategic support across our mining village catering operations.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will oversee and support Chef Managers, Head Chefs, Sous Chefs, Chefs and catering teams across multiple sites.
You will work closely with site leaders, clients and operational teams to ensure catering services are safe, compliant, consistent and commercially effective.
You will also play a key role in driving food safety, menu development, innovation, resident satisfaction and continuous improvement across the business.
This is a hands-on, multi-site leadership position suited to an experienced catering professional who can balance strategic priorities with operational support and is comfortable travelling to remote sites when required.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
• Providing operational leadership and support across multiple catering operations
• Coaching, guiding and developing Chef Managers, Head Chefs and catering teams
• Conducting regular site visits, operational reviews and catering audits
• Supporting sites experiencing operational challenges or requiring additional leadership coverage
• Assisting with new contract mobilisations, transitions and business continuity planning
• Developing catering initiatives that improve operational efficiency and resident satisfaction
• Ensuring all sites comply with the Assetlink Food Safety Program
• Maintaining HACCP compliance across catering operations
• Leading internal food safety audits and supporting client and external audits
• Monitoring corrective actions and ensuring non-conformances are closed out
• Developing and maintaining catering procedures, policies and operational standards
• Developing seasonal menus and costing menus for tenders
• Coordinating theme nights, promotional events and new dining concepts
• Supporting food cost targets,



stock control and waste reduction initiatives
• Driving consistency in food quality, service delivery and presentation across all villages
• Supporting the recruitment, interviewing and selection of chefs
• Identifying training needs and supporting performance and succession planning
• Building strong relationships with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Supporting tender submissions and operational planning
• Maintaining and improving catering systems, including SafetyCulture, HACCP systems, inventory systems and central ordering platforms
• Leading continuous improvement initiatives across catering operations
About You
You are an experienced catering leader with a strong background in high-volume food service, remote village operations or contract catering.
You understand how to deliver safe, consistent and high-quality catering services across multiple locations and are confident providing leadership, technical guidance and operational support to site-based teams.
You will be commercially aware, highly organised and comfortable managing competing priorities.
You will also bring strong coaching skills, sound judgement and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients, operational leaders and catering teams.
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will ideally have:
• Significant experience in catering management, contract catering or remote village operations
• Demonstrated experience leading catering operations across multiple sites
• Strong knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety legislation
• Experience conducting food safety audits and managing corrective actions
• Experience supporting client, regulatory and external audits
• Strong menu development, costing and product development experience
• Knowledge of food cost control, waste reduction and inventory management
• Experience supporting tenders, new site mobilisations or contract transitions
• Proven leadership, coaching and performance management capability
• Experience recruiting and developing chefs and catering leaders
• Strong client and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills
• Advanced problem-solving ability
• Ability to analyse operational data and identify improvement opportunities




• High level of computer literacy
• Experience with SafetyCulture, HACCP systems, inventory systems or central ordering platforms
• Ability to work autonomously while supporting teams across multiple locations
Essential Requirements
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
• Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
• Current unrestricted Driver's Licence
• Current National Police Clearance, or ability to obtain one
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening
• Full Australian working rights
• Ability to travel to remote mining village sites as required
Highly Regarded
• Previous experience in a senior multi-site catering leadership role
• Extensive remote mining village or FIFO catering experience
• Experience with contract catering and client service delivery
• Experience developing and implementing catering procedures and operational standards
• Experience with mobilisation planning and tender submissions
• Experience introducing new catering technologies, systems or dining concepts
• Formal qualifications in hospitality management, business or leadership
