We are looking for a senior communications and media professional to join our dynamic, high-performing team.
In this exciting and fast-paced role you will lead, shape and deliver whole-of-agency strategic communication and media engagement functions.
You will plan, implement and evaluate communication strategies that support agency goals and priorities.
Your excellent skills in writing plain English content that is appealing and targeted to your audience will ensure delivery of effective and innovative print and digital content.
Your experience in media liaison and issues management will give you the confidence to effectively handle media enquiries and provide well-considered advice to the FSANZ leadership group.
You will help position FSANZ as the leading authority on food standards and food safety response services, driving engagement with government and non-government organisations and industry stakeholders.
Most importantly, you will bring a can-do, problem solving approach, including the ability to work autonomously and take on ad-hoc tasks as required to contribute to the success of the team.
The key duties of the position include:
In this role you will:
1. Lead and coordinate development, implementation and evaluation of effective communication plans and strategies in collaboration with project teams and managers.
2. Manage and oversee the effective handling of media enquiries and emerging issues, including through development of proactive media strategies, provision of advice to the Executive and maintenance of productive working relationships with media outlets.
3.
Lead and coordinate development of engaging, plain English communication materials and products for external and internal audiences and digital platforms, including the FSANZ website and social media.
4. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with external and internal stakeholders, including food regulation system partner agencies.
5. Supervise staff, lead a small sub team with responsibility for strategic, corporate and digital communication, and engage productively with other CEG service teams.
Eligibility
To be eligible for employment at FSANZ, applicants should:
· hold Australian citizenship
· be willing to undergo an Australian police check
· be willing and eligible to obtain a security clearance to the level applicable to the position (if relevant).
