Yard Hand – Scrap Metal
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking
Yard Hand
to join our team at our scrap metal yard.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, staying active and being part of a busy team setting.
Experience in the scrap metal or recycling industry is an advantage, but not essential.
About the Role
Your duties will include:
Assisting with the day-to-day operations of the scrap metal yard
Sorting and handling scrap metal and materials
Upgrading scrap metal
Loading and unloading vehicles
Operating a forklift safely and efficiently
Following and implementing traffic management plans
Keeping the yard clean, organised and safe
Assisting customers and truck drivers when required
Following workplace health and safety procedures
General yard duties as required
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Has a current forklift licence – essential
Is reliable, punctual and hardworking




Has a good work ethic and positive attitude
Is physically fit and comfortable with manual work
Can work independently as well as part of a team
Takes safety seriously
Has good attention to detail
Previous yard, scrap metal, recycling, warehousing or forklift experience is highly regarded
What We Offer
Full-time position 40 hours per week (38 hours standard time & 2 hours overtime guaranteed each week)
Be a part of a rotating Saturday roster for 4 hours (2 hours' time and a half, 2 hours double time)
