The Role
The Capability Delivery and Planning Branch within CASG's Strategy, Planning and Independent Assurance Division is seeking an APS 5 Agreements Support Officer for an immediate start on a 19-month non-ongoing basis.
Working within the Agreements and Strategic Insights Directorate and aligned to the Project Controls function, the role supports Defence reform through the analysis and reporting of project data.
You will engage with military and civilian stakeholders, produce insightful reporting for evidence-based decision-making, and innovate business processes that support Branch, Group and Defence outcomes.
The position requires robust Excel, data analysis and business intelligence skills to transform complex datasets into insights, identify trends, and support strategic planning, performance monitoring and executive reporting.
You will apply sound judgement in policy interpretation, project performance and governance analysis, preparing quality reports and recommendations aligned with strategic objectives.
A merit pool may be established to fill similar APS 5 vacancies across the Branch.
About our Team
Capability Delivery and Planning Branch leads capability planning and reform activities on behalf of the Defence Delivery Group through implementation of National Defence Strategy and Rebuilding Defence Capability.
The Agreements and Strategic Insights team within Capability Delivery Planning Branch lead the centralised governance of project baselines through quality assurance of Acquisition and Sustainment Agreements ensuring there is evidence based performance management to audit standard, in accordance with the Defence Capability System and Project Management framework.

Working with a reasonable degree of autonomy and under broad direction, the Officer will support the governance and administration of project and product documentation,
including Acquisition and Sustainment Agreements.
The role has a strong focus on data integrity, analysis and reporting, requiring collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
You will analyse complex datasets, identify trends and emerging issues, and develop insights that support Branch, Group and Defence decision-making.
Success requires strong Excel and analytical skills, sound judgement, attention to detail, adaptability, and commitment to quality outcomes in a energetic environment.
