This is for three Fixed Term Part Time
appointments for 64 hours per fortnight (0.8 FTE), with the
possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

An exciting
opportunity exists for Aboriginal Enrolled Nurses to participate in
an Early Practitioner Program, where they will receive specialised
training and education that supports the development of their
knowledge and skills in acute paediatric and neonatology settings.
This program is open to Enrolled Nurses with up to 3 years nursing
experience, including newly qualified nurses.
The 12-month
program offers 2 six month working placements across Neonatology
and the Perth Children's Hospital Emergency Department.
Positions
will be offered at a minimum of 6 shifts per fortnight, up to 8
shifts.
Participants will be provided comprehensive orientation,
education and support throughout the program.
Position Profile: We
are seeking a suitably experienced and enthusiastic person to join
our team as an Enrolled Nurse.
In this
position you will be responsible for the delivery of competent,
compassionate, safe and evidenced based nursing care on a shift by
shift basis to patients and their families using the Scope of
Nursing Practice Decision Making Framework.
Key responsibilities
include:
Evaluate
nursing care and report changes in patient condition and/or
family situation or nursing care planning to the Registered
Nurse.
Identify
and recognise common patient problems and when the problem is
beyond the scope of practice, access appropriate
resources.
Identify
and communicate rapidly changing situations to the Registered
Nurse
Contribute to nursing
team functioning and participate within the team.
Support
and liaise with patients, carers, colleagues, medical, nursing,
allied health, support staff, external agencies and the private
sector to assist with the provision of coordinated
multidisciplinary care.
