Tommys Cafe is seeking a passionate and skilled
Barista
to join our dynamic hospitality team in East Gosford, NSW.
This is a
casual position
that offers flexibility whilst maintaining the high standards our customers expect.
As a Barista, you will be the face of our café, crafting exceptional coffee and beverages while delivering outstanding customer service.
This role is central to creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring every customer leaves with a memorable experience.
Key responsibilities
Prepare and serve high-quality espresso-based coffee drinks and other beverages with precision and consistency
Operate and maintain espresso machines and other café equipment to the highest standards
Take customer orders accurately and process payments using point-of-sale system
Provide friendly and efficient customer service, remembering regular customers and their preferences
Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment, including the coffee station and café areas
Develop and maintain knowledge of coffee origins, brewing methods, and flavour profiles to educate customers
Work collaboratively with team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operations
Assist with stock management, including ordering supplies and monitoring inventory levels
Adhere to food safety and hygiene protocols at all times
What we're looking for
Previous experience as a Barista or in a café setting is essential
Strong knowledge of espresso machines and coffee preparation techniques
Excellent customer service skills with a genuine passion for hospitality
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining quality




Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene standards
Flexibility to work casual shifts, including weekends and public holidays
A friendly demeanour and genuine interest in creating positive customer interactions
Relevant barista certification or training is desirable
Basic numeracy skills and familiarity with café point-of-sale systems are advantageous
