About Carpentaria
Carpentaria is a not-for-profit organisation providing Disability and Therapy Services for children, adolescents and adults, through:
Allied Health therapy programs (including Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology)
Independent Living programs
Pathways Program

Purpose
You will provide safe, therapeutic and trauma-informed support to young people aged ***** years, promoting their emotional wellbeing, stability and development.
It focuses on building trusting relationships, supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviors, and responding effectively to crises and identified risks.
Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care team, the role supports young people to develop resilience, independence, life skills and meaningful connections with their families, peers and community.
It also contributes to maintaining a safe, structured and nurturing home setting where young people feel respected, supported and empowered to achieve positive outcomes.
The ideal candidate
Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or the ability to obtain
Demonstrated experience working in residential care, youth services, or Out of Home Care programs
Genuine passion for supporting children and young people to live their best life using a person-centred approach
Knowledge of child protection legislation, care standards, and trauma-informed care.
Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, with experience working in cross cultural contexts
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write clear and accurate reports and sound computer skills
Flexibility to work various shifts including both short and long shifts on weekdays, weekends, evenings, nights, sleepovers and public holidays
