Permanent Teaching role with the Position of Responsibility (Head of Boarding House)

Hale School is Western Australia's oldest independent boys' school.
Located in the suburb of Wembley Downs, the current campus is situated on a magnificent 48 hectare site, approximately 13 kilometres to the north-west of Perth and two kilometres from the coast.
Hale School is seeking to appoint a permanent Senior Teacher with the position of responsibility as a Head of House (Boarding) to commence in Term 1, ****.
The House system is an important foundation of Hale School, facilitating quality pastoral care for boys in Years 8 to 12.
All Heads of House are members of Hale School's middle management team and therefore play an important leadership role within the School community.
We encourage applicants with Senior School experience from all subject areas.
Each Head of House (Boarding) has a responsibility to contribute to the ongoing development of the pastoral care systems within the School and boarding and the development of strong working relationships.
They are also responsible for fostering a strong identity for their House.
Effective communication and rational decision making, ongoing collaboration and wise skilled judgement are essential to this role.
The successful applicant will demonstrate knowledge and experience in the following areas:
Permanent Position - Senior School Teacher
Have excellent knowledge of the curriculum.
Be able to design, implement and assess engaging modules of work, suited to the needs of adolescent boys.
Utilise effective pedagogy to foster meaningful learning experiences.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and a supportive learning environment.
Foster high expectations so that each student wants to achieve their best.
Encourage students to take responsibility for their learning.




Position of Responsibility - Head of House (Boarding)
Provide key pastoral care support to boys in their House
Encourage academic growth while also fostering the social, emotional and spiritual development and wellbeing of students.
Promote appropriate programs, strategies and frameworks that link directly to Hale's vision for wellbeing and vision for learning, to broaden the experiences of each boy.
Play a pivotal role in communicating between parents, boys and staff with the intention of enabling boys to flourish.
Be committed to fostering a strong House identity and community.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Hold appropriate teaching qualifications.
Have current registration as a teacher with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA) or be eligible for registration.
Have a current Working with Children check.
