Production Manager
Steel Frames WA | Perth WA
Steel Frames WA
is a high-performance, project-driven manufacturing business supplying light gauge steel framing to many of Western Australia's leading residential builders.
We are an owner-led company that operates at pace, with quick decision-making and weekly performance reviews.
As we continue to expand our capacity, invest in new equipment, and secure larger contracts, we are looking for a
Production Manager
to take full ownership of production and work closely with the Operations Manager.
This is a leadership position.
The Opportunity
You will work closely with the leadership team to drive production performance and operational outcomes across the business, with a focus on:
Production output and on-time delivery
Labour efficiency and resource planning
Quality control and rework reduction
Production scheduling and workflow optimisation
Continuous improvement and process efficiency
You will see the impact of your decisions on the factory floor in real time — not months later.
This role offers genuine influence in a business where production is central to success, and operational leadership is closely connected to day-to-day performance.
Key Responsibilities
Production Leadership & Ownership
Lead, develop and manage production teams, including supervisors and floor staff
Maintain high standards of safety, quality and production performance
Ensure production systems, workflows and reporting remain accurate and effective
Strengthen processes, structure and capability as the business continues to scale
Operational Performance & Delivery
Provide real-time visibility of production performance, including output, workflow and bottlenecks
Drive production planning and scheduling to meet delivery timelines and optimise throughput
Own the end-to-end installation process, aligning factory, logistics and on-site delivery
Coordinate labour, materials and site readiness to ensure productive, on-time installs
Monitor install performance and resolve issues quickly to maintain quality and delivery targets
Build and manage strong builder relationships, acting as the key operational point of contact
Drive continuous improvement across production and installation, improving efficiency, quality and cost performance
Output, Efficiency & Continuous Improvement
Take ownership of labour efficiency, output targets and production KPIs
Identify and implement improvements to reduce downtime and increase capacity
Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the factory floor
Translate production data into practical actions for leadership
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Oversee quality control systems to minimise defects and rework
Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures
Maintain a safe, organised and high-performing production environment
Support audits, reporting requirements and operational best practices
About You
You are commercially minded and outcomes-focused, with a strong presence on the factory floor.
You enjoy being close to operations,
solving problems in real time, and driving performance rather than managing from a distance.
You will bring:
Proven experience in a
production or manufacturing leadership role
Background in
construction, manufacturing, engineering, or project-based environments
Strong understanding of
production planning, scheduling, and workflow management
Experience driving
labour efficiency, output targets, and continuous improvement initiatives
Demonstrated leadership of
production teams in a fast-paced environment
Confidence using
production systems, ERP or similar platforms
Ability to interpret production data and translate it into practical actions
Exposure to
automation or AI-driven processes
is desirable but not essential
You are comfortable in a high-accountability environment and motivated by performance, growth, and delivering measurable results.
Why This Role Stands Out
Member of the leadership team
Genuine influence over production, operations and delivery outcomes
Broad exposure across manufacturing, installation and builder relationships
Ability to shape systems, processes and operational discipline as the business scales
Clear growth pathway as capacity and contracts continue to expand
This is an opportunity for a high-performing production leader who wants more than just managing day-to-day output and is motivated by ownership, accountability and driving real results across the business.
If you are ready to step into a role where your decisions directly impact delivery performance, efficiency and business growth, we welcome your application.
