General Manager

Gold Creek Country Club
Gold Creek Country Club is seeking a highly capable General Manager to lead our energetic, multi-unit operation on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced operations executive who can build on existing performance, strengthen team culture, and drive long-term operational excellence across a complex recreational and hospitality facility.

Celebrating 30 years in ****, the business is privately owned and undergoing strategic transformation focused on service excellence, financial sustainability and long-term master planning.
Role Requirements
The role assumes full responsibility for the Country Club and its various divisions, including golf operations, food and beverage, retail, corporate income streams and course maintenance oversight.
You will continue to develop leadership across all departments and guide the existing culture — a unique opportunity to drive and oversee multiple business units.
The role involves:
• Assuming executive control of daily operations across all business units.
• Providing a warm and welcoming experience for customers, with a focus on delivering exceptional service, and identifying efficiency improvements without disrupting existing success.
• Supporting strategic and capital planning initiatives.
• Maintaining and improving service and performance standards, including cleanliness and hygiene standards.
• Working with the executive leadership team to deliver the long-term financial objectives.
• Overseeing cash flow discipline and cost control.
• Producing monthly and quarterly reports, including consolidation of departmental reporting.
• Developing and monitoring departmental budgets and reviewing performance.
• Handling complex customer matters and ensuring a positive overall experience.
• Reporting and managing all insurance claims, on and off course.
• Monitoring and developing a friendly, supportive culture, and maintaining morale and cohesion across all departments.
• Overseeing compliance and regulatory requirements, including WHS, liquor licensing and food safety regulations.
• Maintaining, reviewing and enforcing operational policies and procedures.
• Maintaining and developing strong community engagement.
• Supporting neighbourhood and stakeholder communications.
The successful candidate will have:
• A minimum of five years in senior management roles (essential).
• Demonstrated human resources management experience, including staff recruitment, performance management,
industrial relations and HR compliance (essential).
• Proven leadership experience managing diverse teams and multiple departments.
• Strong financial acumen, including capital and operational budget management and P&L; responsibility.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Australian workplace legislation and compliance requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making and conflict resolution skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Marketing and social media experience.
Desirable attributes:
• Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with employees, club members, golf professionals and members of the public using the facilities at GCCC.
• Strong analytical and financial skills to develop and monitor budgets so that the Club operates at a profit.
• Marketing and customer service skills to attract and retain members.
• Familiarity with the practical and financial aspects of managing golf course facilities, including pro shops, restaurants, clubhouse and the course.
• A degree or diploma in business, tourism or recreation.
• Previous management experience.
• Knowledge of golf and golf club operations.
• Excellent customer service skills.
