Disability Support Workers – Northern & Southern Suburbs
Minimum 20+ hours per week
available for the right applicants
Empowering Futures is looking for four enthusiastic, reliable and engaging Disability Support Workers to join our team across Adelaide's Northern and Southern suburbs.
We are currently seeking:
Southern Suburbs: 1 male and 1 female Support Worker
Northern Suburbs: 1 male and 1 female Support Worker
We have a range of regular shifts available across different participants, programs and locations, with the opportunity for a minimum of 20 hours per week for the right workers.
Our participants are looking for Support Workers who:
Are friendly, confident, positive and excellent communicators, with several participants specifically requesting workers from an Australian/English cultural background to support communication, shared interests and personal compatibility.
We are particularly looking for someone who:
Is naturally warm, friendly and positive
Enjoys laughing, chatting and joining in with participants
Is comfortable building genuine, professional relationships
Is patient and able to teach and reinforce appropriate behaviors and boundaries
Can calmly manage interpersonal issues
Understands that positive behavior support is about teaching, guiding and supporting rather than simply directing
Is comfortable with appropriate participant-initiated physical contact, such as holding hands, while maintaining professional boundaries
Is reliable and committed to regular ongoing shifts and willing and able to pick up extra shifts on job board
Can work independently and confidently

Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
Full Australian driver's licence
Relevant NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
Working with Children Check
Current First Aid and CPR
Appropriate disability/support qualifications or relevant experience
Ability to provide personal care
Good written and verbal communication skills
The ability and understanding the importance of completing progress notes, Incident report and all required documentation in a required time frame.
Ability to follow support and behaviour support plans
Availability to work a minimum of 20 plus hrs a week
NDIS Orientation Modules
Ability to work both
Northern and Southern areas would be a very favourable candidate
