This is an opportunity to work within a high-performing pre-contracts team on large-scale civil infrastructure tenders where you will be contributing to projects from concept through to award.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Pre-Contracts Manager, the Senior Estimator will lead and coordinate estimating activities across major infrastructure bids, ensuring competitive, accurate, and commercially sound submissions.
You will work closely with engineering, construction, procurement, and commercial teams to develop robust pricing strategies and methodologies for complex projects across the rail infrastructure sector.
Key Responsibilities




Lead end-to-end estimating activities for major civil infrastructure tendersPrepare detailed first-principles estimates, cost plans, and pricing strategiesAnalyse drawings, specifications, methodologies, and contractual requirementsCoordinate subcontractor and supplier pricing submissionsIdentify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering initiativesDevelop construction methodologies and staging assumptions in collaboration with delivery teamsParticipate in tender reviews, adjudications, and client presentationsMaintain estimating databases, benchmarks, and cost historiesMentor and support junior estimators within the team
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
Extensive estimating experience within major civil infrastructure projectsStrong background across large-scale projects such as rail, roads, major civilProven capability preparing complex multi-disciplinary tenders in a major projects environmentHigh-level understanding of construction methodologies, productivity rates, and commercial driversExperience with first-principles estimating and estimating software platformsStrong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skillsAbility to work under pressure and manage multiple concurrent tenderTertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline
