This is a unique prospect to take ownership of a high-profile civil infrastructure project, leading both self-perform and subcontracted work packages in a complex mining environment.We are specifically seeking candidates with demonstrated experience managing and delivering projects through a self-perform contractor model, with strong capabilities across contractor management, project controls, commercial performance and stakeholder engagement.Where You'll Be WorkingOur client, Rio Tinto, operates one of the world's largest bauxite mining operations in Weipa, Far North Queensland.
The operation includes three bauxite mines, processing facilities, shiploaders, an export wharf, two ports, power stations, a rail network and ferry terminals.This role will support Amrun, Rio Tinto's newest bauxite mine, completed in ****.
The operation is expected to extend Rio Tinto's Weipa bauxite operations for decades to come, building on more than 55 years of mining history on the Western Cape while continuing to create jobs and support business growth across the region.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the delivery of haul road,



earthworks, drainage and civil infrastructure projectsManage self-perform workforces, contractors and subcontractorsOversee procurement, tendering, planning and scheduling activitiesDrive project budgets, forecasting, cost controls and reportingEnsure compliance with QA, HSE and environmental requirementsManage project risks and develop mitigation strategiesConduct site inspections and monitor construction performanceBuild and maintain strong stakeholder relationshipsDrive productivity, programme performance and project outcomesAbout YouDegree-qualified Civil Engineer or related disciplineDemonstrated experience delivering major civil projects within mining, resources or infrastructure environmentsProven experience managing projects through a self-perform contractor modelStrong contractor and subcontractor management experienceExperience delivering haul roads, bulk earthworks, tailings, drainage or similar civil infrastructure projectsStrong commercial acumen and project controls experienceExcellent communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skillsBe careful - Don't provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.
