Take the Lead on Complex Construction DisputesA highly regarded national law firm is looking to appoint a Senior Associate or Special Counsel to its growing Construction and Infrastructure team in Brisbane.
This is a strong opportunity for an experienced construction disputes lawyer who wants to work on complex, high value matters while taking a more visible and influential role within the team.You will work directly with experienced partners, sophisticated clients, senior counsel and experts across disputes arising from major projects throughout Australia.
The team is collaborative, commercially focused and known for giving senior lawyers genuine ownership of their matters.
This is not a role where you will sit several layers removed from the strategy.
You will be involved in the decisions that shape each dispute, trusted to manage key workstreams and encouraged to build strong client relationships.The WorkThe practice advises across the full range of contentious construction and infrastructure matters, including:Supreme Court and Federal Court litigationDomestic and international arbitrationSecurity of Payment adjudicationsMediation, expert determination and contractual dispute processesDelay, disruption and extension of time claimsDefects, variations, payment and termination disputesComplex technical and expert evidenceStrategic advice during live project deliveryThe team acts on matters across energy, resources, renewables, transport, utilities, property development and major infrastructure.The RoleAt this level, you will be expected to take a leading role across substantial disputes.




Your responsibilities will include:Managing complex matters with a high level of autonomyWorking directly with senior client stakeholdersDrafting pleadings, submissions, evidence and detailed adviceDeveloping strategy with partners, counsel and expertsSupervising and mentoring junior lawyersManaging competing deadlines across large and technically complex disputesContributing to client relationships and the continued growth of the practiceThe role can be shaped around a newly promoted or established Senior Associate, through to an experienced Special Counsel.About YouYou will have strong experience in contentious construction matters and a genuine interest in building your long‐term career in this area.
