About the Y SpaceOur Western Sydney Y Space is a safe, welcoming environment where young people can connect, learn new skills, improve their wellbeing, and build resilience.You'll be at the heart of the local community, creating engaging opportunities that respond to the needs of young people and ensuring every young person feels seen, supported and inspired.About the RoleThis role is all about leading high-quality youth programs that support the physical, mental and social wellbeing of young people while developing future youth leaders.
Lead Programs That MatterDesign, coordinate and deliver engaging youth programs and activitiesManage the day-to-day operation of the Western Sydney Y SpaceSupport young people to develop leadership skills and confidenceMeasure program outcomes and identify opportunities for improvementManage program budgets and resources responsibly Lead & Develop PeopleProvide guidance and support to a small team of Youth WorkersFoster a positive, collaborative team cultureCoach staff to deliver outstanding youth engagement experiencesSupport volunteers and emerging youth leaders Build Community ConnectionsCreate partnerships with schools, councils and community organisationsParticipate in youth networks and community initiativesIdentify opportunities to grow programs and increase participationAdvocate for the needs of young people within the local community Keep Young People SafeMaintain high standards of safeguarding, compliance and risk managementCreate inclusive,
welcoming and child-safe environmentsEnsure programs align with Y policies and proceduresAbout YouYou're probably an experienced Youth Worker who's ready for the next challenge.You love working directly with young people but are excited by the prospect to lead others, build partnerships, and have a bigger impact in your community.You'll Bring:Experience working with young people in community, education or youth settingsConfidence supporting young people with diverse needs and challenging behavioursStrong communication and relationship-building skillsThe ability to organise programs, projects and priorities effectivelyA genuine passion for empowering young people to succeedLeadership potential and the desire to develop othersEssential RequirementsDiploma in Youth Work, Social Work, Psychology or a related fieldCurrent NSW Driver's Licence and access to a vehicleCurrent Working With Children CheckCommitment to safeguarding children and young peopleCPR & First Aid CertificateExperience coordinating programs or leading staff/volunteersOur Commitment to SafeguardingThe Y is committed to creating and maintaining environments where children, young people and vulnerable people are safe, respected and supported.
