Primary objective

Provide high level efficient and effective day to day delivery of data administration, database advice and support and services to

the Principal and staff including data entry, collation, analysis and reporting with a focus on high level data quality and use of data

to support school management through SAMS, Compass and Timetable Solutions platforms.

Taminmin College is a large, comprehensive, and complex Independent Public School that services the rural area of Darwin,

Training program, a Big Picture Learning Academy, as well as servicing special needs students through an on-site Special Education

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Oversee data entry and management of Student Administration Management System (SAMS) database, COMPASS, Timetable

Solutions and General Access to maintain accuracy, currency and integrity of all records and results both manually and

electronically to meet school and legislative requirements.

1. Provide support and facilitate the implementation of a range of innovative ICT tools to support school processes and provide

support to others in accessing and using these tools including advice and problem solving in the following areas, NTCET, SACE,
Timetable Solutions, SAMS, BIC, Compass, Schools on Line and SAIS.

1. Manage and monitor the quality of student and other relevant data used by the school and prepare and present reports

including initial analysis and recommendations for improvement.

Provide advice and reports to executive and senior staff, client schools and DoE agencies on the collection and reporting of

information and statistics pertaining to secondary school students including management of SAIS and Schools on Line reporting

systems and collation of whole school reports.

1. Provide high-quality administrative support for student enrolments within a fast-paced, time-sensitive secondary school

environment.

Selection criteria
Essential

1. Demonstrated high-level ability in the effective administration, management and utilisation of student management

information systems across all relevant modules, such as SAMS, timetabling and student options, with a thorough

understanding of school operational processes and reporting requirements.

1. Demonstrated high level of oral and written communication skills including preparation of reports, routine correspondence

and the ability to guide and train staff in the use of the SAMS and Compass

1. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with people from diverse cultural, socio-economic

and professional backgrounds and to prepare written documentation.

1. Proven ability to interact effectively with families and community stakeholders in a professional environment, including the

ability to respond appropriately in sensitive and/or challenging situations while maintaining strict confidentiality.

1. Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and organisational skills with the ability to work independently or in a team within

an administrative setting, adhering to deadlines and attention to detail.
