Secondary Science Teacher and Digital Learning Support

Southern Hills Christian College is a K-12 Christian school in Bedfordale, Western Australia, and is part of the Swan Christian Education Association. Our staff are all committed Christians, and this belief is embedded both explicitly and implicitly in our curriculum and all that we do.

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Secondary Teacher and Digital Learning Support to join our team in a full-time permanent position commencing 1st January 2027. This role consists of 0.8 FTE Secondary Science teaching component and 0.2 FTE as a Digital Learning Support.

The Digital Learning Support role is intended to produce measurable improvements in the engagement, planning, and implementation of new digital learning initiatives that will directly impact on classroom practice, teacher capability with technology, and student learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities Include:

- Deliver engaging and effective teaching for Years 7-12 students, adapting to diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support student success, uphold College policies and maintain skilled growth and curriculum expertise.
- Contribute actively to the Christian ethos and wider life of the College, including spiritual, academic, sporting and cultural activities.
- Provide coaching and support for teachers in the effective use of digital learning platforms and Apple technologies.
- Deliver professional learning and training that enhances the integration of digital technologies in teaching and learning.
- Administer key educational applications,



communicate updates and contribute to the ongoing development of digital learning practices across the College.

Selection Criteria:

Essential:

- Demonstrates a personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and is an active member of a Christian Church, living in accordance with the Association's Statement of Faith and Educational Objectives.
- Qualified to meet Western Australian Department of Education teaching requirements.
- Values the effective use of digital technologies to enhance teaching, learning, and school operations.
- A strong communicator and collaborator, skilled in supporting and developing staff, students and families.
- Highly organised and skilled, contributing positively to school culture, teamwork and extracurricular activities.
- Current Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA) registration and a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to apply.

Desirable:
(Include where appropriate in your response)

- To have undertaken formal studies in the area of Christian Education, attend a Christian College or be familiar with relevant books and articles on Christian Education.
- To have experience in the advertised positions.
- To have experience in using a digital learning management system as a teaching and learning tool.
- Experience with technology such as Learning Management Systems,



particularly Canvas LMS, and Apple devices and iOS operating systems, generative AI for educational purposes, or Microsoft Excel.
