Make a real difference working within our Macquarie Services Team as a Occupational Therapist, partnering with leaders to support the teams who make a meaningful difference in the lives of people with vision and hearing loss.

This is a Permanent Part-Time opportunity (30.4 hours per week) reporting to the Team Lead - Macquarie and based at our Macquarie location.

This is a hybrid role, combining approximately three days equivalent of clinical occupational therapy with one day equivalent of Network Team Lead responsibilities, offering the opportunity to influence both individual client outcomes and the quality and consistency of occupational therapy services across the team.

You'll make a difference in this role by:
- Delivering evidence-based Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to children and young people with vision and/or hearing loss, supporting them and their families to achieve meaningful goals and maximise participation at home, school and in the community.
- Provide goal-based therapy that promotes motor development, mobility, independence and participation, while recommending equipment and assistive technology to optimise functional outcomes e.g., simple home mods; positioning & mobility; hygiene & transport; access and daily living.
- Delivering services in person, via telepractice in a NextSense centre, client home, school or other appropriate setting.
- Using a person/family centred framework to enable clients and their families to develop their skills and capacity and achieve outcomes.




- Developing, delivering and evaluating Individual Support Plans (ISP), and progress reports with the client, family and relevant others, that reflect the individual's strengths and needs and the family's priorities.
- Maintaining client records to ensure all information, including sensitive issues, are treated in a way that respects the individual clients right to confidentiality and dignity.
- Committing to continuing career development across the DHH/BLV sector, and subsequently demonstrate and share knowledge.
- Supporting team members to operate within established clinical protocols and NextSense processes, procedures and policies.
- Providing initial response and resolution to client feedback and work together to manage client waitlists and team productivity.
- Contributing to identifying strengths in service delivery and opportunities for enhancement of services.
- Partnering with others to identify opportunities and challenges that arise, address concerns and resolve matters.
- Facilitating Professional Growth Planning for team members.
- Understanding key financial issues relating to sustainability.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You:

- Relevant qualifications in Occupational Therapy
- A minimum of 7 years' experience providing occupational therapy services, with demonstrated sound clinical knowledge and skills. Relevant equivalent experience will also be considered.
- Be able to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute to client outcomes in a team setting




- Prior experience in working with clients with a sensory disability
- Experience working towards goals and key performance indicators
- Working knowledge of NDIS framework desirable
- Ability to learn new systems, processes and frameworks
- Current valid driver's licence
- Valid Working With Children Check and NDIS Workers Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Full Registration with AHPRA
- You are obliged to become familiar with, and comply with child protection policies and legislation, as amended from time to time
