The Role
As a result of ongoing transformation initiatives, our client is seeking two experienced Technical Project Managers - Release Train Operations Management (RTOM) to define, implement, and execute the release operations model for a Salesforce Release Train within a complex IT Transformation Program.
This role extends beyond traditional release coordination. You will be responsible for shaping the release governance framework, implementing release processes end-to-end, and enabling delivery squads, platform teams, testing functions, and vendor partners to deliver efficiently across every stage of the release lifecycle.
$1,000.00 - $1,250.00 per day + Superannuation (depending on experience)
Duties / Typical Day / Responsibilities
- Define and implement the Release Train Operations Management (RTOM) framework across the Salesforce Release Train.
- Establish release governance standards, gating criteria, and operational controls.
- Manage the end-to-end release lifecycle across DEV, ST, TST, PPT, and PROD environments.
- Facilitate and chair release governance forums including Go/No-Go decision meetings.
- Develop release readiness, rollback, and deployment procedures to support reliable delivery outcomes.
- Coordinate delivery leads, platform teams, release engineers, testing teams, and vendor partners throughout release cycles.
- Identify process gaps, operational inefficiencies, and release management risks, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with Testing Centre of Excellence (TCoE), Process Owners, Release Engineers, DevOps Teams, and delivery stakeholders to enhance release maturity.
- Lead environment sequencing and deployment planning activities to support successful releases.
- Drive adoption of release standards and release management best practices across the transformation program.
Requirements
Essential
- Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager or Release Manager within large-scale enterprise technology programs.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing release governance frameworks and operating models.
- Solid understanding of environment management, release planning, deployment governance, and operational readiness.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional delivery teams, testing functions, platform teams, and vendors.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and leadership skills.
- Experience operating across complex Agile and enterprise delivery environments.
Ideal
- Salesforce platform delivery or transformation experience.
- Telecommunications or large enterprise transformation experience.
- Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD, release engineering, and platform delivery practices.
- Experience working with Testing Centres of Excellence (TCoE) and large-scale vendor-led delivery programs.
