Hays Engineering is partnering with an established engineering consultancy delivering critical power infrastructure projects across Western Australia and seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to join its growing team.

This opportunity is suited to engineers with experience in transmission or distribution line design who are looking to further develop their expertise while working on critical power infrastructure projects across Western Australia.

Your new role

Joining an established team of engineers, designers and drafting professionals, you will contribute to the design and modelling of overhead line projects across the utilities, infrastructure and resources sectors. The role provides exposure to projects ranging from distribution networks through to transmission infrastructure operating at voltages up to 220kV.

Key responsibilities include:

Transmission and overhead line modelling using PLS-CADD.

Developing and maintaining line design parameters.

Pole modelling and structural capacity assessments.

Pole spotting and span optimisation activities.

Preparing Basis of Design documentation.

Producing plans, profiles and stringing charts.

Assessing electrical clearances and design compliance requirements.

Identifying potential environmental, heritage and third-party crossing constraints.

What you'll need to succeed

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.





Experience designing overhead powerline infrastructure within transmission and/or distribution networks.

Exposure to utility, renewable energy, mining or infrastructure projects.

Experience using PLS-CADD would be advantageous; however, candidates with strong overhead line design experience are encouraged to apply.

Knowledge of line design standards, clearances and utility requirements.

Ability to work collaboratively within a project delivery environment.

Robust attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality engineering outcomes.
