Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Security Engineer to join a global IT Security team. In this role, you will be responsible for protecting enterprise systems by monitoring security events, responding to incidents, and implementing security best practices across cloud and Microsoft environments.

Working as part of a follow-the-sun security model, you'll balance day-to-day security operations with project-based initiatives, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a mix of operational support and security engineering.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor, investigate and respond to security alerts and incidents across cloud, endpoint, identity and email security platforms
- Perform incident triage, analysis, containment, remediation and recovery activities
- Conduct threat analysis and support proactive threat-hunting activities across the enterprise environment
- Lead or participate in security investigations, root cause analysis and post-incident reviews
- Escalate and coordinate responses to significant security events as required
- Support and secure Microsoft 365, Azure and AWS environments
- Administer and enhance email security, endpoint protection and cloud security controls
- Perform vulnerability management and recommend remediation activities
- Collaborate with global IT teams to implement security improvements and best practices
- Participate in security projects and infrastructure enhancement initiatives
- Develop and maintain security documentation, standards and operational procedures
- Ensure security controls align with organisational policies and compliance requirements




- Provide technical guidance and support on security-related matters across the business

Required Skills & Experience

- CISSP certification (mandatory)
- 8-10 years' experience in Cyber Security or Security Engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with:

- Microsoft Azure
- Microsoft 365
- Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Experience in Security Operations, including:

- Security monitoring and alert management
- Incident response
- Investigation, triage and remediation
- Experience with email security, endpoint protection and cloud security technologies
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability and initiative
- Demonstrated stable employment history and career progression

Qualifications & Clearance
- CISSP certification (mandatory)
- Australian Citizenship (mandatory)
- Experience within qualified services or other complex enterprise environments is highly regarded
