Working alongside experienced fabrication and installation teams, this full-time position provides hands-on support to skilled tradespeople across the fabrication and installation of large structural steel and outdoor structures.
Key responsibilities
- Assisting boilermakers, fabricators, installers and other tradespeople as required
- Assisting with loading and unloading where required, deliveries and collection of materials, and supplies
- Material handling and movement of steel and components
- Using power tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively
- General workshop and labouring duties
- Maintaining tools, equipment and work areas
- Keeping the workshop, yard and work areas clean, safe and organised
- Following company Safe Work Procedures, SWMS and WHS requirements
About you
- Previous experience as a Trades Assistant, General Hand or Labourer, preferably within structural steel, fabrication, or construction
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Good mechanical and practical aptitude
- The physical fitness required for an active, hands-on role
- A current Australian driver's licence
- Strong safety awareness
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A reliable and punctual approach to work
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
