Mareeba Hospital in Queensland is seeking a dual-qualified Registered Midwife and Registered Nurse to join the Maternity and Paediatric Unit on a full time contract basis. This is an eight-week placement running from 31 August to 25 October 2026, offering the chance to work in a busy regional healthcare setting with a diverse patient population. The role is remunerated at AUD58.95 to AUD76.20 per hour, and free onsite accommodation is provided for the duration of the contract, with the possibility of extension beyond the initial term.

Preferred Requirements





- Current dual registration as both a Registered Midwife and Registered Nurse
- Core clinical experience in midwifery and nursing practice
- Proficiency with ieMR (integrated electronic Medical Record) systems
- Ability to work flexibly across maternity and paediatric patient cohorts
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to regional healthcare delivery

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor of Nursing and Bachelor of Midwifery (or equivalent), with current AHPRA registration in both disciplines
- Demonstrated experience working in regional or remote healthcare settings
- Post-graduate qualifications or ongoing professional development in midwifery or paediatric nursing
