We are seeking a 3D Draftsperson to join our growing engineering team in Wetherill Park, NSW. This is a full-time position that offers a fantastic opportunity to take a central role in designing and developing 3D models and production drawings of electrical switchboard systems and distribution solutions using Autodesk Inventor. As a 3D Draftsperson, you will be responsible for translating the electrical switchboard designs into accurate 3D models and producing detailed designs and manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor. This role is strategically important to our business, as it directly impacts the quality and reliability of our production processes. You will work on-site at our Wetherill Park facility, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative 3D designs and production drawings.
Key responsibilities
- Create, modify, and manage 3D models and assemblies in Autodesk Inventor
- Produce detailed 2D manufacturing drawings, general arrangement drawings, and fabrication documentation from 3D models
- Develop concept designs and convert them into production-ready models and drawings
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers and workshop teams to ensure designs meet technical, manufacturing, and client requirements
- Maintain drawing standards, version control, and project documentation
- Support design reviews and provide technical input during the design and production process
- Ensure all work complies with relevant Australian standards and company quality procedures
About you
- Qualified Mechanical Draftsperson, Mechanical Designer, or relevant Engineering qualification
- Proven experience using Autodesk Inventor for 3D modelling and design drafting
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications
- Experience producing detailed manufacturing and fabrication drawings
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Ability to work full-time from our Wetherill Park office
- Experience with electrical switchboards or electrical design preferred but not essential
