Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Identity Architect / Solution Architect to support the strategic design, governance and maturity uplift of enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) capabilities within a major Australian Government environment based in Canberra.

This is a senior architecture role responsible for defining target-state identity architecture, reference patterns, standards and roadmaps across complex cloud and on-premises environments.

The successful candidate will provide architectural leadership across workforce, privileged, service, application, external and government-to-government identity services, while ensuring identity platforms and controls align with cyber security, enterprise architecture and operational requirements.

The role will work closely with enterprise architecture, cyber security, infrastructure, applications,



service operations, HR, data, digital teams and external providers to establish secure, scalable and consistent identity solutions.

What we're looking for:

- Strong experience designing and governing enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) architecture
- Robust knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, SSO, federation, Conditional Access and MFA
- Experience with identity lifecycle management, PAM, RBAC/ABAC, entitlement management and least privilege
- Ability to design secure identity solutions across cloud, SaaS and on-premises environments
- Strong understanding of Zero Trust, cyber security architecture and identity governance
- Experience developing architecture roadmaps, standards, reference patterns and implementation guidance
- Ability to assess technology risk, solution designs, integration risks and security controls
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across executives, architects, technical teams and external providers
- Experience working in Australian Government, regulated or mission-critical ICT environments is highly desirable
- Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, CISSP, CISM or Microsoft Identity/Security are desirable
- Must hold an active AGSVA NV1 security clearance
- Work location: Canberra, ACT - hybrid arrangements may be available
