About the role

This is an independent contractor role offering flexibility, autonomy and meaningful clinical connection as a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner. You will work from home, with community, school, provider and participant visits arranged as needed, building a caseload that reflects your capacity, preferred locations, areas of interest and professional strengths. You will work autonomously while having access to regular individual and peer supervision, delivering high-quality, ethical PBS services within a supportive and values-driven practice.

Key responsibilities

- Complete high-quality functional behaviour assessments and other relevant assessments with participants, families, carers and support networks.

- Gather and analyse information across home, community, education, employment and service settings.

- Develop, implement, review and evaluate interim and comprehensive Positive Behaviour Support Plans.

- Ensure all plans meet NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements and reflect contemporary PBS practice.

- Identify restrictive practices, support appropriate authorisation processes where required, and develop practical strategies to reduce and eliminate restrictive practices over time.

- Deliver engaging and practical training, coaching and implementation support to families, support workers, providers and multidisciplinary teams.

- Build strong working relationships with participants and their supporters, ensuring people feel heard, respected and included throughout the process.

- Monitor outcomes, review data and adapt strategies in response to participant needs, goals, safety and quality of life.

- Maintain timely, accurate and professional records, reports, progress notes and PBS documentation.

- Represent Mirrored Mindset professionally and contribute to a collaborative, respectful practice culture.

About you

- An approved tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy,



Education or another relevant human services discipline.

- Demonstrated and substantial experience working specifically in the Positive Behaviour Support field.

- Experience independently completing functional behaviour assessments and developing high-quality behaviour support plans.

- Experience supporting NDIS participants with complex support needs and behaviours of concern.

- Current classification at Proficient level or above under the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework.

- A completed NDIS Practitioner Suitability Assessment and an existing NDIS practitioner ID.

- A strong working knowledge of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements, Behaviour Support Rules, restrictive practice obligations and reportable incident processes.

- The ability to confidently translate assessment findings into practical, respectful and implementable strategies.

- Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to write clear, qualified and person-centred PBS plans and reports.

- Confidence working autonomously, managing competing priorities and taking ownership of your caseload.
