Join our dedicated Environmental Services team as a Casual Housekeeper and play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors and staff. Working as part of a supportive team, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness across hospital areas while following infection prevention, workplace health and safety and hospital procedures.

You have a strong work ethic, good attention to detail and understand the importance of maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in a healthcare setting. You are comfortable working both independently and as part of a team and take a professional and respectful approach when interacting with patients, visitors and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain patient rooms, wards, bathrooms, offices, common areas and other hospital areas to a high standard.
- Perform vacuuming, mopping, dusting and general housekeeping duties.
- Remove rubbish and waste safely and in accordance with hospital procedures.
- Maintain clean, safe and hygienic environments for patients, visitors and staff.
- Follow Infection Prevention and Control and Workplace Health and Safety procedures at all times.
- Use cleaning equipment and machinery safely and appropriately.
- Restock cleaning supplies and maintain equipment as required.
- Identify and report hazards, maintenance issues or concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Work collaboratively with the Environmental Services team to achieve daily cleaning requirements.
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with patients, visitors and hospital staff.
- Complete other cleaning and housekeeping duties as directed.
You Will Also Bring
- Previous experience in housekeeping,
cleaning or environmental services is desirable.
- Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare environment is highly regarded.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleaning standards.
- Understanding of infection prevention and hygiene principles.
- Ability to follow procedures and work safely.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual and conscientious work ethic.
- Positive and professional attitude.
- Ability to work in a quick-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn and operate cleaning equipment and machinery.
- Flexibility to work a casual roster, including weekends and varied shifts as required.
