Our Venues:
Situated in the heart of Sydney's CBD, the building is made up of two states of the art buildings operating under one roof. Within the operation, The Big Group manages all the hospitality for 8,500 employees and across multiple floors of meeting rooms, large event spaces, café outlets and an event center that caters up to 1000 people.
Our meeting room and client floors offer personalized high-touch service for meetings, executive dining, and formal events. Our event space caters for corporate meetings, dinners, conferences, cocktail parties, awards and gala occasions. We also offer an a la carte service, on our glamorous client floor, with great views of the city landscape and Harbour Bridge, and a Production Kitchen that caters for all operations.

Position Overview:
We are looking for a Kitchen Storeman , preferably with previous experience as a Chef, to support our kitchen at our Sydney CBD corporate location.
This role offers regular weekday shifts on a fixed roster.
Main Duties:
- Assist Logistics & Beverage Manager to coordinate all hospitality logistical needs of the venue, for receipt and proper storage of deliveries from the loading dock as well as inter‑building transfers.
- Check and oversee the receipt of goods arriving to the kitchens, ensuring the right items are received as per invoice, packaged and correctly labelled and within the correct use by date.
- Store items in respective storage spaces, ensuring the correct items are packed, in a secure and safe manner. Ensure all stock is stored following all food safety protocols and rotating stock as per FIFO.
- Ensuring staff are maintaining FIFO procedures.
- Liaise with BOH concerning any quality control with packaging and quantities of food items, including potential issues and delayed delivery times.
- Maintain an effective receiving system to ensure that the goods are received on time and all requests from the team are fulfilled.
- Ensure all deliveries are put away in the appropriate areas on receipt and checked off.
- Management of rubbish waste and bins ensuring correct waste stream processes, as well as storage spaces and stock quantities.
- Participate and attend regular manual handling training.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Preferably minimum 2 years’ experience in the kitchen as a chef in a corporate and/or high‑volume kitchen.
- Minimum requirement of certificate 3 in commercial cookery or 2 years’ experience with references.
- Previous experience with fine dining is highly regarded, preferably corporate and event experience.
- Full availability to work days including some weekends, as required.
- Ability to work in a rapid‑paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
