We are seeking a committed and reliable full time Trades Assistant to work alongside our experienced Workshop Tradespersons. This role will allow opportunities to develop and hone your skills in a hands-on workshop workplace with the intention to enter into a full time Fitting / Turning Apprenticeship upon successful completion of your 6 month probation period.
You will play a vital role, contributing directly to the quality of work delivered to our clients and the overall success of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist qualified tradespeople with workshop tasks and maintenance work, including:
- Overhauls of large equipment for the underground mining industry
- Servicing and maintaining air operated equipment
- Assisting with fabrication work as required
- Supporting the workshop team with repairs and maintenance to a range of equipment
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop environment
- Recording of servicing information, photographs and other documentation relevant to the job
- A willingness to learn and develop practical skills in a trades environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining standards of safety and quality
- Strong work ethic and reliability, with the ability to work as part of a team
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
Current HRW Forklift Licence is desirable, but not essential
