Mossmont Nurseries located in the central Recent South Wales region of Warburn, requires 100 seasonal horticultural labourers for the up coming season commencing October 2026 and concluding July, 2026. Contract is for a 9 month period. Mossmont Nurseries is an open field, whole sale fruit tree business requiring horticultural labours to conduct work on the manual growing of field trees.

Tasks required of labourers includes but not limited to, hand weeding, de suckering of rootstock, pruning branches of trees, grafting, tree training, colour coding, harvesting of Nursery Trees and nut orchards. Other jobs that maybe required include harvesting and packing of other types of horticulture produce.

Applicants must be motivated for hard work and able to learn quickly. Work is very physical, low to the ground and in the outdoors. Successful candidates will be required for 5.30 am starts, work outdoors in all weather conditions including through the very hot summer period and wet rainy winter periods. General hours of work will be 7.30am - 4.00pm Monday to Friday.

Applicants must be able to work in a team with others and able to follow verbal instructions.



Applicants must have a good level of physical health / fitness and able to constantly bend for long periods of time. Applicants must have the ability to work quickly, with accuracy and low to the ground. Applicants must have a good eye for detail with a high levels of quality.

Successful candidates will be offered employment on a casual basis, working a minimal of 30 hours per week depending on weather and market demand.

Labour’s will conduct a majority of piece rate work (paid by per tree) through the summer season. Some per hour work rate will also be conducted for certain tasks. Per hour rate is paid under the horticultural award of $32.18c.

Employment is seasonal, with quiet periods / less work in early Autumn. Applicants must commit to working for the full 39 weeks. Applicant likely to receive 30 hours per week of work on average. Applicants are required to provide their own transport to get to work. Applicants from outside the Warburn area must demonstrate a commitment to relocating and living in Warburn for the period of employment.
