About the Role

Mildura Base Public Hospital (MBPH) is seeking expressions of interest from experienced and compassionate Registered Psychiatric Nurses who are interested in future opportunities within our Mental Health team.

Our Mental Health team provides specialised care to patients experiencing acute and ongoing psychiatric conditions. Working within a supportive multidisciplinary workplace, you will partner with psychiatrists, patients, families and allied health professionals to deliver safe, recovery-focused care that supports each patient's mental health and wellbeing.

Successful candidates will be expected to work a range of shifts, including weekdays, evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.

About you

Essential

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (or Registered Nurse with mental health endorsement/experience)

- Demonstrated experience, skill and/or knowledge in the provision of direct clinical care to people who have experienced mental illness

- Demonstrated knowledge and application of Recovery-based principles

- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, including use of Excel, Word and client management systems

- A commitment to Mental Health & Wellbeing promotion within the community

- Working knowledge of the relevant Mental Health Act and associated regulatory frameworks

Desirable:

- Experience working across multiple hospital departments

- Demonstrated knowledge and application of Recovery-based principles

- Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act and associated regulatory frameworks

- Strong computer literacy, including client management systems





- Postgraduate qualification or training in Mental Health

- Cert IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (or similar)
