About the role

Absolute Forklift Training PTY LTD is seeking an experienced CERT IV Forklift Trainer to join our team on a contract basis. This is a pivotal role within our vocational training division, where you will be responsible for delivering high-quality forklift operation and safety training to diverse learners across the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie regions. Based in Rutherford NSW 2320, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that operators meet industry standards and regulatory requirements, whilst contributing to safer workplaces across the construction, logistics, and warehousing sectors. This contract position offers flexibility and the chance to make a tangible impact on workplace safety and professional development.

Key responsibilities

- Delivering engaging and compliant forklift training programmes to individuals and groups

- Conducting practical forklift operation assessments and evaluating competency against industry standards

- Developing and maintaining comprehensive training materials, lesson plans, and assessment documentation

- Ensuring all training delivery adheres to relevant legislative requirements, including Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations and Australian Standards

- Providing constructive feedback to learners and maintaining detailed training records and progress reports

- Operating and maintaining training equipment, including forklifts and associated safety apparatus, in optimal working condition

- Collaborating with clients to understand their specific training needs and tailoring programmes accordingly

- Staying current with industry best practices, regulatory changes, and advancements in forklift safety and operation techniques





- Contributing to the continuous improvement of training delivery methods and course content

What we're looking for

- Valid Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent recognized qualification)

- Current forklift operator licence or equivalent certification demonstrating advanced operational competency

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to learners of varying abilities

- Demonstrated ability to assess learner competency fairly and objectively using recognised assessment methodologies

- Current knowledge of Work Health and Safety legislation and its application to workplace training

- High level of organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail in documentation and record-keeping

- Ability to work independently

- Commitment to maintaining professional standards and continuous professional development

- Preferably, experience in developing or customising training content to meet specific client or industry needs

- Experience working with diverse learner cohorts, including those with varying literacy levels or learning needs, is advantageous
