About the role

IWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Nurse Unit Manager / Clinical Lead to join our leadership team in Sussex Inlet.

This is a full-time senior clinical leadership position offering the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to residents while supporting and developing the nursing and care teams who provide their day-to-day care.

Working collaboratively as part of our leadership team, the Nurse Unit Manager / Clinical Lead will provide clinical leadership and oversight, support positive resident outcomes, mentor nursing and care staff, and contribute to the ongoing delivery of safe, high-quality and person-centred care.

The role will have a strong focus on clinical oversight and governance, quality improvement, staff capability and compliance with the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, legislative requirements and organisational policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

- Provide clinical leadership, guidance and support to Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and care staff.
- Promote consistently high standards of safe, evidence-based and person-centred care.
- Support the day-to-day coordination of clinical services, including staffing, workload and resource requirements.
- Mentor and develop nursing and care staff, supporting clinical capability, accountability and professional growth.
- Oversee resident assessment,



care planning and review processes to ensure care reflects individual needs, preferences, goals and clinical risks.
- Monitor clinical outcomes, incidents, trends and quality indicators and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support compliance with the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, relevant legislation and organisational policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with residents, families, medical practitioners, allied health professionals and external healthcare providers.
- Promote high standards of clinical documentation and ensure records are accurate, timely and compliant with relevant requirements.
- Participate in staff education, competency development and clinical training.
- Contribute positively to the broader leadership team and the ongoing development of a strong, respectful and accountable workplace culture.

What we're looking for

The successful applicant will be an experienced Registered Nurse who combines strong clinical knowledge with approachable, supportive and effective leadership.

You will have:

- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
- A minimum of three years' experience in aged care nursing, with demonstrated clinical expertise and leadership experience.
- Robust knowledge of the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, relevant legislation and contemporary residential aged care practice.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, support and develop nursing and care teams.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Experience in comprehensive assessment, care planning and the management of complex clinical needs.




- Sound knowledge of clinical governance, infection prevention and control, risk management and continuous quality improvement.
- The ability to work autonomously while maintaining strong collaborative relationships across the organisation.
- A genuine commitment to person-centred care and upholding the rights, dignity, choice and independence of older people.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage challenging situations calmly, sensitively and professionally.
- Sound computer literacy, with experience using Microsoft 365 and electronic clinical documentation systems highly regarded.
