Are you the person who notices what others miss?
Do you have a background in facilities management, engineering, building services, or healthcare infrastructure?
Are you the person who can walk through a site and spot a facilities or operational issue before it becomes a bigger problem?
Do you enjoy building relationships and working with customers, frontline stakeholders, site leaders, and technical teams to get the best outcomes?
If you're looking for an opportunity to use your facilities or engineering knowledge in a highly visible role where you can make a real impact across one of Victoria's largest healthcare environments, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
Join our team as a Site Liaison Officer at Monash Medical Centre, Clayton on a full-time, ongoing basis. Reporting to the Client Services Manager, you will work closely with Capital, Engineering and Facilities teams while acting as a key on-site representative across the hospital campus.
This is a highly visible, hands-on role that requires more than strong stakeholder skills. Success in this position comes from having a practical understanding of facilities operations, engineering services, and complex site environments, enabling you to recognise issues, coordinate solutions, and work effectively with multiple teams.
Based at Clayton and on a Full Time Basis, you will serve as the vital connection between hospital site leadership and facilities, engineering, and capital works teams.
Why this role is different
Unlike traditional liaison or customer service positions, this role sits at the intersection of operations, facilities management, engineering services, major capital works, and stakeholder engagement.
You’ll use your technical understanding to support site operations, influence outcomes, coordinate critical activities,
and help ensure the hospital environment remains safe, functional, and welcoming for patients, staff, and visitors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as the primary liaison between hospital site leadership and facilities, engineering, and capital works teams
- Supporting capital projects and facilities teams through site coordination, communication, signage, and wayfinding
- Monitoring, escalating, and supporting the resolution of site-based issues in shared/common areas
- Assisting with car parking operations, space management, and meeting room coordination
- Maintaining a strong on-site presence to proactively identify and address operational issues
- Building robust relationships with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to support service delivery
This role may occasionally involve travel to other sites at times to support network-wide initiatives and projects.
About You
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring a solid background in facilities management, engineering, building services, asset management, or a related field, together with a passion for stakeholder engagement and operational excellence.
You will have:
- Proven experience in a similar role or environment
- Experience and/or knowledge of working within facilities management, engineering, building services, maintenance, or asset management environments
- The ability to understand facilities and engineering issues and confidently engage with technical teams
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- Experience navigating complex operational environments, ideally within healthcare, government, education, or large commercial facilities
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills
- A proactive approach and the confidence to identify, elevate, and help resolve site-based issues
