Cafe and Events Manager - amazing location!

The Garden Room is a busy all-day cafe and events venue in one of Brisbane's best locations, Roma Street Parkland. We're a family-run, fast-growing hospitality group, and we're looking for an experienced Restaurant or Cafe Manager to run the floor day to day and lead our functions and events program.

What you'll do

- Run day-to-day floor service and lead a team of 25 across cafe and functions
- Supported by our dedicated Function coordinator you will assist to plan and run our group bookings, exclusive functions and events program (Group bookings 10 -30 pax multiple weekly, exclusive functions 50 - 200 approx. one or more a week. Parkland events a few times a year.)
- Recruit, train and roster a customer-focused team
- Own presentation, quality and budget standards across food and beverage and team labour.
- Report directly to the GM /Owner

Your roster

This role is predominantly built around daytime hours, including weekends, where we welcome the majority of our cafe trade. As our manager on the ground, your week will include two fixed weekdays off with admin, planning and meeting days on a Monday.



Whilst we are looking for an experienced manager that understands the peak of our trade is on weekends, especially busy during school holidays, we will always work with our managers to ensure they get occasional weekends off for special occasions.

What you'll need

- Proven experience managing a similar cafe/restaurant and functions operation
- Current RSA and Food Safety Supervisor certificate (QLD Approved Manager licence highly regarded)
- A hands-on, lead-from-the-front approach to rapid-paced service
- Strong staff leadership, training and rostering skills
- An eye for detail and a passion for customer service.
