Junior Foreman / Leading Hand Carpenter - Mid Rise Construction

Are you a carpenter ready to take the next step into site leadership? We are looking for a Junior Foreman to join our team on an exciting mid-rise construction project. This role is suited to a skilled carpenter who is looking to transition off the tools and develop into a future Site Foreman. You’ll work closely with an experienced Site Manager, learning the systems, sequencing, and decision‑making required to successfully run a construction site. This is a hands‑on opportunity for someone who wants to build their career beyond carpentry and understand the bigger picture of delivering a project from the ground up. This is a casual prospect offering $55–$65 per hour + Super (experience dependent) for the right person looking to transition from the tools into site leadership.

The Role

This is not a desk‑only position. You’ll still be expected to jump on the tools when required, support the team, and lead by example — but the goal is to progressively move you from doing the work to coordinating the work. You’ll learn how to:

- Read the flow of a construction project and understand what needs to happen next
- Coordinate trades and ensure works are completed in the right sequence
- Identify potential issues before they become problems
- Understand how today’s decisions impact tomorrow’s program
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, trades, and management




- Take ownership of areas of the site and grow into a leadership role

About You

You are likely a carpenter who:

- Has solid experience on commercial or multi‑residential projects
- Is ready to step up and learn what it takes to run a site
- Takes direction well and understands the value of learning from experienced people
- Is reliable, organised, and willing to put the team first
- Can still get involved on the tools but is keen to develop beyond them
- Thinks ahead and understands construction sequencing
- Wants a long‑term career path into site supervision and project leadership

You don’t need to know everything — but you do need the attitude to listen, learn, ask questions, and take responsibility.
