Practice Information:
This organisation delivers allied health services across a diverse range of funding models, supporting participants and clients throughout the lifespan. Services are provided under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Medicare-funded programs, aged care services, private funding arrangements and other government and community-based health initiatives.
As a registered NDIS provider, this organisation offers Speech Pathologists the opportunity to work with a broad and varied caseload across disability, health, education and community sectors. Services are delivered within homes, schools, early childhood settings, workplaces, aged care facilities, community settings and clinic environments.
Position Description:
As a Graduate Speech Pathologist, you will:
- Provide Speech Pathology services across a variety of community settings
- Work with a diverse caseload across disability, health, education and community sectors
- Deliver assessments, therapy interventions, reports and personalised support plans
- Develop strong relationships with participants, families, carers, schools, healthcare professionals and other stakeholders
- Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners and other allied health professionals within a multidisciplinary team
- Participate in a structured new graduate program designed to support the transition from university into clinical practice
- Receive regular supervision, mentoring and professional development opportunities
- Contribute to community engagement initiatives and partnerships that improve access to allied health services across Queensland communities
- Build professional networks and learn from experienced clinicians committed to graduate development
Position Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology or due to graduate prior to commencement
- Eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA)
- Interest in community-based allied health and working with people across the lifespan
- Robust interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to person-centred, strengths-based practice
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Current driver's licence and willingness to undertake community-based visits
Previous experience within disability, paediatrics, community health, aged care, rehabilitation, education or mental health settings is highly regarded but not essential. New graduates are encouraged to apply and will be supported through a structured development program.
