Pattern Maker/Garment Technician (12-month Maternity Leave Contract)

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Garment Technician / Pattern Maker to join our Head Office team in Woolloongabba on a 12-month maternity leave contract . This role is ideal for a highly skilled and detail-oriented professional who enjoys working closely with design and production to bring collections to life.

About the Role

Full-Time – 12 Month Maternity Leave Contract

Reporting to the Production Manager and working closely with the Designer, you will play a key role in the development, fit, and technical execution of SACHA DRAKE garments. Working within a small, collaborative team, you will contribute to the success of each collection while thriving in a creative and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Pattern make on Style CAD system patterns and alterations.
- Attend fittings to take accurate notes for corrections and updates.
- Create sample markers and production markers on Style CAD
- Create, update and maintain garment tech packs & specification sheets for offshore make
- Ensure consistency of products through review of samples, specification sheets, construction, and grading.
- Creating accurate Tech drawings,



using illustrator software
- Create costing markers and record accurate yields for sampling and bulk.
- Work closely with Patternmaker, Cutter, Machinists and Design room assistants to adhere to achieve sample range completion dates.
- Support the Design Team with print design as required
- Print Design Skills advantageous
- Patternmaking experience is essential.

About You

- 3+ years' experience in patternmaking style CAD, garment technology, or a similar apparel role.
- Previous experience working with offshore production within the womenswear industry.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, grading, fit sessions, and size specifications.
- Experience across both woven and cut-and-sew product categories.
- Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and confidence liaising with internal teams and suppliers.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience using Style CAD or other patternmaking software will be highly regarded.
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator
- Print Design Skills advantageous
- Patternmaking experience is essential.
