About the role
Reporting to the Head of Training & Checking, you will lead and oversee the Cabin Crew training and standards function, working closely with Flight Operations, Safety, Crew Planning, People & Culture and other operational stakeholders.
The role can be based at our headquarters at Cairns Airport, our Southbank office in Brisbane, or we are open to a flexible working arrangement for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the planning, coordination and delivery of Cabin Crew technical, standards and recurrent training, re-evaluations and competency assurance activities.
- Ensuring training is delivered consistently, effectively and within regulatory and company requirements.
- Maintaining oversight of Cabin Crew training currency, qualifications, records and competency requirements.
- Ensuring training and standards comply with CASA requirements, the Skytrans AOC, approved manuals, policies and procedures.
- Supporting CASA surveillance, audits and other regulatory activities.
- Developing and maintaining the Cabin Crew annual and recurrent training program.
- Coordinating SEP, CCOP and associated training courses, resources,
instructors, facilities and equipment.
- Reviewing training content, procedures and supporting documentation to ensure they remain current and effective.
- Promoting a strong safety culture and supporting the application of Skytrans’ Just Culture principles.
- Leading and developing Cabin Crew instructors, assessors and future leaders.
- Supporting workforce capability, succession planning and operational readiness.
About You
We are looking for an experienced aviation training professional who combines strong technical knowledge with genuine leadership capability.
You will ideally have:
- A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- A current CASR 121.010 Instrument of Approval.
- At least 5 years’ experience in training within an operational setting, including assessing development needs and developing training strategies.
- Previous airline experience in a learning, training or development role.
- Excellent knowledge of CASA regulations and aviation training requirements.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and motivate people.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise in a dynamic operational workplace.
- A genuine commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvement.
- The ability to work collaboratively across operational and corporate teams.
